Swimming Streaming FAQ
- Set up a tripod-mounted camera or smartphone at the pool deck and use the HometownLive app or encoder to go live. Position for a wide view of the pool or focus on a specific lane area. Fans watch every heat for free from any device.
- Both. HometownLive archives every stream, so fans can watch the full meet live, or rewind and jump to their swimmer's specific heat after the fact. Every event is preserved for replay.
- Yes. The platform works with any camera equipment and handles the warm, mixed lighting typical in indoor pools. For best results, schools use a dedicated camera rather than a standard smartphone in high-contrast natatorium lighting.
- HometownLive integrates with Scorebird, which supports swimming timing systems. Live results and heat times can appear as overlays on your stream when the integration is configured.
